FOUNDATION..HOW TO FIND YOUR SHADE

I have gotten ALOT of questions pertaining to foundation whether liquid

or powder

mineral
or cream

whichever you choose to wear it MUST be worn correctly! I have seen tons of ladies wear whatever the sales ladies told them was best without covering the basis to discover what looks best in sunlight, room light or nite. These looked over steps could be crucial to what you go into the world wearing & TRUST ME PEOPLE NOTICE!!!!

When i discovered my shades(almond glow, soft copper & honey from Cover girl Queen Collection)

it wasnt from the sales lady down at Mac we ALL know they just trying to sell a product, I personally know what looks good is 3 shades mixed opposed to one shade all over, No1 is one shade,

So why put one 1 ask yourself

Lets take Keri Hilson for example shes medium skin tone but you see her sometimes golden

then other times so Pale she looks like a ghost notice the neck is darker

Now hair color ALSO play a factor (we will touch on that in another topic) but my main focus here is there shouldnt be such a vast difference the two looks should always be combined so its NOT so apparent like in those photos.

Heres some pointers to get you moving in the right direction Enjoy =)

1.Before you pick the formula, you need to find out the right formulation for your skin. If you're oily, look for words like "oil-free," "oil-control" or "mattifying" on the bottle. Got dry skin? Go for moisturizing foundations with "hydrating" or "moisture-rich" wording on the bottle. Foundations containing glycerin glide on easily. For combination skin, determine if you're more oily or dry and go from there. Cream-to-powder bases work great for combination skin. Mineral foundations work well on all skin types, especially sensitive skin.

2.Consider if you want a light or medium-coverage.

If you have good skin, but want to even out a few ruddy areas, consider a light coverage. For women with really uneven skin tone or blemishes, consider a medium-coverage foundation. Some women swear by mineral foundations, so you might want to try these out as well.

3.Show up to the makeup counter with a clean, fresh face
It's OK to wear eye makeup or lipstick, even moisturizer on your face, but you don't want to show up already wearing foundation.

4.Select a few colors that seem close to your natural skin tone. Go for the yellow-based foundations, which look most natural on all skin tones. However, if you're very fair, try a pink, cooler shade.

5.Apply a stroke of up to three colors on a cheek (the inner wrist or hand aren't the best spots, contrary to popular belief). The one that disappears is the right shade.

6.Take a good, long look -- near a window. Ask to borrow a hand mirror and stand near a doorway, or step outside, to see which foundation looks best in the natural light. The right shade is one that you can't see because it blends in so well. If you are purchasing from a drugstore, take a couple bottles to a doorway, hold them up to your neck and see which one matches the best or if you have a favorite shade you want to match, match the colors of the bottles, never the swatch on the display. IF YOU LOOK LIKE THIS YOU DEAD WRONG (*_*)

7.Once you've bought the foundation, take it home and try it out. If you don't like it you can return it. If you're buying from a drugstore, purchase from one with a liberal return policy (like Rite Aid).

Tips:
1. Try the color out on your jawline ,not your wrist or hand

2. Remember to stand in a doorway or outside to see if the color matches

3. A foundation with sunscreen is a safe bet, but you will still need to wear sunscreen under your foundation. Also considering skipping foundation and opting for a tinted moisturizer
(Laura Mercier makes a great one) instead.

4. Believe it or not, today foundation is totally optional. It's healthier for your skin NOT to wear foundation daily. If you have blemishes or pimples, try strategically placed concealer instead. Or just wear the foundation on the parts that need it most, likely around your nose and eyes and on your chin. Just make sure to blend properly.

5. Go for different looks for evening and day. A light foundation is perfect for work or weekend. While a sexy shimmer is great for evening.

Heres some examples of "Shimmer" looks

EYEBROWS!!!!!!!!!! So MANY face this obstacle #BUT U GONE LEARN TODAY =)

Having perfect eyebrows is one of the most important factors in creating a flawless look that you will be proud of.

When your eyebrows are well-groomed

, it creates a much cleaner look for you, and you’ll find the makeup application process to be much easier because you don’t have to “fight” those pesky excess hairs. Depending on the shape you select

, eyebrows can change the style of your appearance, so it’s always good to be aware of the look you want to portray to the rest of world.

Eyebrows that are sharply angled, too thick

too dark

or too thin

are very unattractive and distracting. The goal is to enhance what you already have without drastically altering it too much.

I have gotten so MANY inboxes about this delimma us divas face when it comes to brows. Worry NO LONGER LADIES!!! FaBB is here to break it down huney =) Achieving the perfect eyebrow can be a difficult if you don’t have much experience, which is why I’ve provided my video here so that will take you through the process of selecting and grooming your perfect eyebrows so that you can maintain them yourself.

If you’re a little unsure about what to do, here are some tips that may help you along the way:

1.Find out where you arch is

, each eyebrow will be different the mistake most make is trying to make both eyebrows look the same when you have a personality brow like here on Kim

(which peeks a lil higher than your other brow, dont try to imulate it will make your eyebrows look weird =)

my right side is my personality brow

2.For perfect eyebrow maintenance, you need to purchase brow powder i suggest a darker & lighter shade

(like displayed in my video)(or a pencil)

clear fragrance free chapstick for those unruly eyebrows

an eyebrow brush

and tweezers.

Tweeze the hairs as they grow back without disrupting the arch, and fill in any gaps you may have created with a powder or pencil. Use your brush to give those brows an extra lift.

3.When it comes to eyebrow tweezing, remember less is more. You should not tweeze or pluck your eyebrows more than once a week, and definitely not into the natural arch of the brow. Keep in mind that eyebrow plucking/tweezing can weaken the hair follicle over time, which will cause some hairs to not grow back at all. If/when your hair follicles become weak, the mistakes you’ve made cannot be undone.

4.If you’re ever burned as a result of eyebrow waxing, refrain from it until your wound has healed completely. You may want to consider applying full-coverage concealer over the burn & hair folicles that may grow as you are waiting for the new growth (if you have to go out and want to cover it up.) Apply aloe vera or vitamin E over the area to soothe the burning sensation in the meantime.

5.Avoid the trends. Always stay natural and true to form instead of chasing what is popular for the moment. If you must give in for fashion’s sake, then use a razor instead of permanent hair removal.

6.Take your time. Don’t tweeze when you know you have limited time. By doing this, you’re making lots of room for mistakes, which will have to be corrected with a pencil or brow powder. Set aside some time on a lazy afternoon to make sure the job is done right. Magnifying mirrors are also very helpful because they provide a close-up of the area you’re going to tweeze.I personally suggest tweezing!! "Beauty IS PAIN" was what my momma use to tell me.If you notice after a wax they tweeze anyways its painful but take a tylenol at first & it will pass but tweezing will give you a longer groom!

**Helpful tips are to use a pencil to guide you on where you should START you fill in with your pencil**

Also they sell eyebrow sketches if necessary to guide you

7. For eyebrow regrowth, the best options I can recommend are to use Rogaine
or any hair growth product that contains minoxidil. It is typically used to stimulate the hair growth for men with significant hair loss, but you can use it to stimulate the growth of your eyebrows also. I’ve also read positive feedback about castor oil. Just apply it to your brows every night before you go to bed, and it should help. If not, then try a minoxidil-based product.
