Bottom Lash Application,You May think its Hard but.....

So Today's post was requested by a New Doll who really wants in on this bottom lash thing! No worries that's why my blog was created. No question is a dumb question, remember I too had to learn so "Each 1 Teach 1"
Let's get right to it. With so many choices in lash brand & style I'll focus on ones like seen on Iconic "Twiggy" fashion model & host on ANTM. This look can be achieved with strips! I chose to explore it mainly b/c at first glance u would assume it was achieved by individuals (Got me too at first!) Here's a quick pictorial I'll tag a tutorial I found for those who need it Smooches xoxo M.

Step by Step Instructions

1. Purchase demi wispies (like shown on Twiggy) or style u feel best for your desired look.
2.Apply mascara on your lashes  for best blend of your falsies.
3.Prepare glue ( I used all but My Best adhesive is hair weave glue lite, non tacky, black, reuse able)
4.Apply glue on tip of tweezers use to apply on lash line (gives best control of how less or more glue applied)
5.Use a regular strip lash (just turn over) *Cheap trick*
6.Eye shadow makes for best blend of this look a brown metallic or black works fine!
7.Whalah Magic,Now Camera time!!! (pose for the camera Click Click)

Heres a few inspiration pics

"CATEYE" SIMPLIFIED, THE MYSTERY SOLVED!

  To Create This Look:

  • Line the eye with  Liquid Eyeliner from the inner corner all the way to where the brow ends, winging the shape out toward the temple.
  • Finish by lining the lower eye with a kohl pencil and applying lashings of black mascara.
  • Remember a nude Lip Combos great with Dramatic eyes.Contouring the cheeks also compliments well. (soft Brow).

Fashion Obsession: Perfect Work Tote

FASHION OBSESSION: Perfect Work Tote

I can't believe I haven't posted since the beginning of the month. August....and summer for that matter.... is damn near over. A lot has been going on and I've been quite busy.

I just HAD to post after catching up on one of my favorite bloggers posts and found a FAB post about work bags. I'd been obsessing over getting a new one myself. I have one, my tried and true tote, that I carried so much the straps were so tore down and even the leather looked beat down. I finally broke down and got a new one and I love it! I feel like new woman LOL!

So, check out NUSophisticate's blog on perfect work totes (Hey, I'm working SMART with this post. She pretty much did a FAB job with giving the high end and low end options for FABulicious work bags!)

My next bag purchase will be this:

Zara Pleated Shopper

I know that NEITHER of these are anything new, but I'm not one to buy something just because it's popular. It takes a while for something to reaaaaally stick with me when it comes to spending my own money on an item I'm going to wear over and over and over. Once I'm obsessed, I will use and wear one item to the damn death. LOL

Well, ladies stay FAB... I'll come back soon with a more substantial update

My Top Fav FAB (Custom) BodyCon Designers

Okay so evvvvverybody makes or offers these...You know, the party dresses that hug every curve (or dip of cellulite). EVERY gyal in the dancehall (lol) wears these and they're the go-to sexy freakum dress to just throw on and step out.

You can go from Herve Leger to the cheapies at Forever 21, but I'll never get sick of the body con dress. Just remember, some are better than others. And when it comes these, fit and fabric is key. (And a good body shaper/Spanx doesn't hurt either). You often see every girl at the party with one of these on, so oftentimes, custom is the FAB way to go with these. I'm not a stranger to a night out with the girls at a dancehall party, boat ride or club, (especially in the summer) so I love having these in my wardrobe as that go-to pick when I really want to look fabusexilicious without having to try too hard. I let the dress and shoes speak for themselves and the rest falls into place ;)

Here are three of my all-time fav custom body-con dress designers. Not only are they FAB. A majority of them are divalicious female entrepreneurs making their OWN WAY (and I love supporting those as well).

Butch Diva

(Image from ButchDiva.com)

This Brooklyn designer's catsuits and body-con dresses have been worn by entertainers including Patra, Lil Kim and Raye 6. What I love about Butch Diva is that the designer and founder, Tiffany, gives you one-on-one customer service, measures a dress to fit your body like a glove and also has cuts that are forgiving of a lil tummy or other imperfections that come with having curves. Also, you can mix and match fabrics, from psychodelic and animal prints to stretch lace. (And not to mention she's a TRINI GYAL ... #TriniLove... LOL). Her looks aren't for the faint of heart nor the faint of FAB but you can also get some more demure dresses made as well.

Here's a Butch Diva custom dress I had made:

To find out more or get your own custom dress visit: ButchDiva.com. I went in, picked the style I wanted and the fabric combo and she made my Fab dreams come true. (She can also add embellishments like feathers, which were part of the original dress.)

Also, I'd def. recommend her for my plus size and curvy divas. You would be SURPRISED at how small a piece can look on a hanger and how many different sizes and shapes the dress fit perfectly. I went to her showroom once and there were women of various sizes, from the petite of petite to the Vah-vah-vah-voom and the sample size fit amazing.

House of Goodluck

This designer's pieces are phenomenal. I have yet to get a piece made by her but I plan to soon. Not only does she do the body-con dresses--- and do them well--- her fabric and design combos are sick! Just SuperFABulicious! Also, she's a beast when it comes to studding, adding zipper details and other embellishments. She also does custom shoes and other items as well, so you KNOW you won't be wearing the same thing as someone else. (Oh and the designer, Patrice, is another Trini gyal as well! #TriniLove)

Nakimuli

When I first saw this designer's African Hologram dress, I just DIED, went to HEAVEN and was RESURRECTED in fabulicious nirvana. Her latest pursuits have been bodysuits, leggings and two-pieces in poppin' contrasting colors and prints, but she still incorporates the body con dresses in her lines and offers custom services for dresses as well. I'm STILL in love with this one and plan to contact her soon to get my own made:

I wonder if she could add a zipper down the back or a strip of contrasting fabric right down the middle. Sexy FABulicious, right?

L'impasse

This custom coutour boutique's dresses have been worn by the likes of singer and reality TV star Mashonda. Lil Kim, Lisa Raye, K. Michelle and Nicki Minaj. I'm sure I'm late on this FAB boat but who cares. They offer hawtness, so I'm talking about it NOW. LOL. Beading, embellishments, sequins, studs, they do it all. FLAB-U-LUCIOUS Goodness... They have a boutique in Manhattan and I might just need to take trip and visit.

Rue 107

I first swooned over this line of body con dresses when I saw their line featuring cartoon characters including Woody Woodpecker and Bugs Bunny (or a likeness of them). Usually the characters were sewn on the sides or front of the dress, which I thought was unique and stood out among the pack of designers on the body con bandwagon.

She then went on to add peacock-like designs to the sides that had me swooning even more:

Rue 107 also offers leggings, tops, bathing suits and body-suits, along with more dresses in playful prints and colors.

So next time you're looking for hot party or special occasion dresses that are CUSTOM MADE, you have a list of FAB designers to choose from. And NO, they're not in order of hawtness nor customer service or other factors, simply my top 5 that I either love, have admired or plan to rock in the future. Support young black women in business and stay FAB.

***(Oh and don't forget, either get your body tight or wear a shaper underneath... Spandex is def. unforgiving... I even cringe seeing my own pic in that dress above because the four pack I once had is a lil more chunky these days...Had to tuck and suck in the belly the whole night LOL! I'm working on it ladies #TeamFAB&FIT... )***

FASHION OBSESSION: AZTEC and GEOMETRICS

So, fab ladies, many apologies for the lapse in posting. Life can happen and you really won't be in the mood or have the time to blog. But MUST change that. I usually hate when my favorite bloggers don't update enough. LOL. Now I know how THEY feel.

Anywho, let's get right into it. I've been in LOVE with aztec and geometric-infused fashion for many years. And when Monnica, CEO and founder of ShesFab.com, an accessories and fashion retail store, sent me these, I fell right back in love!

(Sorry about the photo quality. Again, still working on the camera)

They have a vintage look, with orange, bronze and ultra yellow details.

You can find some similar to these at ShesFab.com.

Here are some other aztec/geometric-infused favs, all picks you can take from summer to fall (which will soon be here):

With each you could throw on a blazer/cardigan and tights and you're good to go for the fall.

TUESDAY'S FASHION OBSESSION: SIMPLE CHIC

Lately I haven't really been in the fashion obsession mood but I had to STEP IT UP and PERK UP...It's a holiday! So here's my latest obsession: SIMPLE, EFFORTLESS CHIC...  K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Sweety (lol, I won't use the usual word. No need to get ugly...)

I've def been an avid watcher of Love & Hip Hop ATL, and alllll its ratchedness, including the styling and fashion on the show. Not only is the drama over-the-top and EXTRA but some cast members go too FAR AND TACKY with their fashion picks, particularly their accessories....

I love a good statement piece (and even a combo of them) but overkill really just makes me go to a mental place where FAB doesn't exist, and that place is quite annoyingly uninspiring. I just get exhausted with how bad it looks.

I'm not perfect, and I'm not the BEST FAB FASHIONISTA out there, but these are just my opinions, many cosigned by other fans of the show.

Rasheeda, as BEAUTIFUL as she is, is the TOP CULPRIT with this. Just tooooo much tacky accessorizing. So, ladies, she's really the one who sparked today's focus: KISS.

Take the above... The BAD ring, the beads, the crosses, the bling, the big hoops, the layered necklaces, the HAT, the red lip, the black liner, the thick lashes, the long straight hair, the red beads on the earrings, the red top (which has some graphic on the front). JUST TOOOOO NUFFFFFFFF Jesus! FAB OVERKILL

I think some of us should just let our best assets speak for themselves especially if they're NATURAL assets like beautiful facial features, nice legs, pretty smile or dancing eyelashes. Dimples, beautiful hands, anything--- find a way to JUST accentuate that. For me, what I choose to accentuate for a day, week or month (or YEAR) can depend on my mood or what I'm feeling for the day or night. I love my eyes, lips, legs and boobs (YES ... I prayed for them to grow as a teen and they FINALLY did... MADDDD LATE LOL!). Anywho, I like to accentuate those aspects of my physical look the most.

I find that when I try to get too extra with my outfits or accessories or hair, I just don't feel comfy. Some people can pull it off and look effortlessly creative and funky and out of this world, but me, I feel like that little girl in the itchy slip and socks and stockings and frilly, light-colored dress back in the day... I wanted to kick all that pomp and circumstance off and throw on a simple cotton romper and jelly sandals!

Rasheeda looks GREAT here:

See, she let the earrings and eyeshadow be the focal point, kept the daintly layered necklaces and pulled her hair back, accentuating her best facial features. She's BEAUTIFUL!

Joseline also overdoes it a bit but sometimes it actually WORKS. I think she would have that hood FAB, Latina spicy look down if she would maybe minimize one piece or get rid of one thing.

She already has on a fly, printed body-con dress, so no need for the long gold earrings AND the chunky necklace. And no need for the smoky eye with all that either. Maybe a cute Chanel or cross-and-bones stud earring might have worked better or maybe take off the necklace. Maybe a simple cateye liner and mascara with a nude lip would've been fine. She also had the jumbo Chanel bag which as even more overkill and what looked like blue and cream shoes. A simple oversize clutch (or even a small neon clutch would've been cute) and maybe a strappy sandal or solid colored pump would've gone well.

In this pic, she got the pink lip, with the chunky necklace, with the hoops with the hair with the scarf. Maybe take off the necklace or do without the scarf. maybe take off the hoops and keep the scarf and necklace. Maybe do a pink stain or gloss instead of that matte lip.

In this pic, she has on sequin top, hanging earring with orange and metal detail, middrift out, yellow pant,  beaded bangles, diamond ring, gold watch (a NICE one) and Louis Vuitton satchel. Tooooo much... I can't see the shoe but I'm sure it's some other color or pattern. LOVE her pieces but just not all together. Take the earrings and bangles off and add some big emerald studs OR leave the bangles add emerald studs and take off the gold watch.

I think the BEST STYLED cast member is Mimi. She BRITE as hell (ie. a FOOL in love) but always keeps it simple, yet chic:

She lets her best assets speak for themselves and doesn't overdo it yet doesn't look like plain Jane either.

Here are some celebrity queens of KISS:

Kelly Rowland

Kim Kardashian (YES, don't hate)

Even when she does a print, she lets that print speak for itself. When Kim starts doing TOO much with her style, it's always a don't for her.

Ciara: The Queen of Sexy SIMPLE chic

She's another FAB doll who, when she does too much with the hair, the dress, the shoes and the makeup, it's NEVER a fashion DO.

Tracee Ellis Ross

Now, if you're not into being toooo simple and love your accessories (as I DO... especially the FAB ones sold at ShesFab.com... which I will be reviewing soon!), take a page from these divas who do OVER THE TOP ACCESSORIZING and FASHION well.

Kelis

Olsen Twins

Sarah Jessica Parker

Solange

When all else fails, just throw on a classic white or solid colored tee, a cute solid bottom like slim or boyfriend jeans, shorts or a flowy skirt, and pile on as many FAB and CRAZY accessories as you want.

Try James Perse or American Apparel for quality staples that you can wear many times without them looking cheap or off-color. Or buy MANY of the cheapies and layer them. Stores like Strawberry, Conway and Rainbow carry plenty in all colors, cuts and sizes. I got some cute V-neck tees from Forever21 for less than $4. (Again, I emphasize the fact that these are not meant to wear for years so maybe it's best to invest in quality).

I like to stay in a certain category or feel when mixing jewelry such as various size beads, silver w/gold, chunky links with smaller links. If you're doing a LOT on your neck, don't do too much on the ear. If you're doing a lot on the ear, don't do a lot with the necklace. Try to skip a body part. Got on a scarf around the neck? Well skip the WOW factor in the bodice (ie your top/blouse/or tank) and get just as outrageous with your shoe or wrist. If it's a NICE, well-made accessory, it's okay to match it with something that's JUST as nice and well-made (ie a genuine gold nameplate goes great with a long GENUINE gold link necklace, gold bangles or cuffs and diamond studs). Sometimes matching sets are good and you can wear that matching set along with another matching set (ie.a gold necklace and matching bracelet with silver earings and matching rings or a turquoise stone bracelet with matching earrings and complementary matching color set in mango or yellow or gold.)

I hope these tips help... Ladies, I've just seen so much fashion overkill this week, it's put me into FAB shock...

Kisses Miss Jane
